Thailand has ordered two additional Airbus C295 tactical transport aircraft, increasing its total fleet of the platform to five aircraft.
Three C295s have already been in service with the Royal Thai Army since 2016, supporting cargo transport and troop deployment missions. The newly acquired aircraft will instead operate with the Royal Thai Air Force’s 46th Wing Division stationed at Phitsanulok air base.
The first delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2029 after assembly is completed at Airbus Defence and Space’s production facility in Seville, Spain.
Airbus has also teamed up with Thai Aviation Industries to provide maintenance and sustainment support for the country’s expanding C295 fleet.
