SRC has secured an additional contract to provide its SR Hawk ground surveillance radars to Poland, reinforcing its continued cooperation with the Polish Armed Forces.
The agreement extends SRC’s established collaboration with WB Group, which integrated SR Hawk radars onto Poland’s BWR-1D/S reconnaissance combat vehicles and AWR artillery reconnaissance platforms in earlier contracts awarded in 2021 and 2024.
Installed on Rosomak wheeled armored vehicles, the radar’s Fall-of-Shot functionality — combined with WB Group’s TOPAZ fire-control system — allows Polish units to detect, track, and engage threats rapidly while maintaining comprehensive situational awareness across land and maritime domains.
More than 500 SR Hawk systems are currently deployed worldwide. The radar is capable of tracking artillery fire, individual personnel, ground vehicles, and vessels, making it suitable for diverse surveillance and border protection roles.
Expanding Reconnaissance Capabilities
Poland has pursued a systematic effort to modernize its artillery reconnaissance and battlefield intelligence systems through multiple defense acquisitions.
In addition to radar upgrades, the country has increased its unmanned aerial reconnaissance capacity by procuring additional FlyEye UAS platforms.
Under a September 2023 framework agreement between the Polish Armament Agency and WB Group, FlyEye systems were slated for procurement. A fourth implementing agreement signed in October 2025 expanded deliveries and included associated logistics and training packages.
Further modernization efforts encompass Poland’s light reconnaissance vehicle fleet. In 2024, Warsaw ordered 286 LOTR/Kleszcz armored reconnaissance vehicles from an AMZ-Kutno-led consortium, with deliveries planned from 2026 to 2035.
The new vehicles will incorporate advanced mast-mounted sensor solutions, such as Aselsan’s ARSUS 100 system, to strengthen persistent surveillance and precision targeting capabilities.
