LightPath Technologies has signed a $9.6 million agreement to supply cooled infrared camera systems to a returning defense customer, reinforcing its role in security-focused programs.
The systems incorporate internal cooling mechanisms that lower overall heat emissions, minimizing detectability while maintaining imaging effectiveness in high-tempo operational environments.
The Orlando-headquartered firm said its products are optimized for reliable all-weather monitoring and surveillance missions, offering robust performance and user-friendly operation.
Manufacturing will be carried out at facilities in Florida and New Hampshire, with shipments planned through 2026.
Strengthened Capabilities After G5 Infrared Acquisition
The award comes shortly after LightPath completed its acquisition of G5 Infrared in February, broadening its portfolio of thermal imaging and optical solutions for tactical markets.
G5 Infrared, established in 2011 in Hudson, New Hampshire, was purchased for $27 million through a combined cash and stock deal.
The company posted roughly $15 million in profit for fiscal 2024 and is expected to see continued financial growth moving forward.
