Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) has unveiled a next-generation Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), reinforcing India’s focus on developing indigenous unmanned solutions for modern warfare. The fully tracked system, built entirely in-house, combines robust design with multi-role functionality, positioning it as a key asset for operations in challenging environments.

The platform is capable of carrying payloads up to 1,000 kilograms, supporting transport of supplies, equipment, or specialized systems. It offers several hours of operational endurance and a maximum speed of 20 km/h. Its hybrid electric drive, integrating battery power with extended range options, enables quiet and efficient performance suitable for stealth operations.

The UGV features an indigenous navigation suite with multiple modes of operation, including remote tele-operation, autonomous navigation to designated waypoints, and a follow-me mode for seamless coordination with personnel. These capabilities allow the system to be tailored for different tactical requirements.

Its tracked design ensures superior traction and stability on uneven terrain, while an optional wheeled configuration provides flexibility for faster movement on roads or urban landscapes. This dual-configuration approach enhances mission adaptability.

In operational use, the UGV can support logistics by transporting supplies to forward areas, conduct reconnaissance in high-risk zones, assist in engineering tasks such as obstacle clearance, and potentially integrate sensors or light weapon systems for combat support. By minimizing human exposure in dangerous conditions, it significantly improves mission safety and effectiveness.
