Fincantieri has delivered the second Brawijaya-class offshore patrol vessel to the Indonesian Navy, marking another step in Jakarta’s naval modernization program. The vessel, KRI Prabu Siliwangi (321), stems from a 2023 deal involving the transfer of OPV systems originally developed for Italy’s naval fleet.

The ship has arrived in Lampung, where it will complete final preparations before entering service later this month. Alongside its sister ship KRI Brawijaya (320), commissioned in 2025, the platform is derived from the Thaon di Revel-class and represents Indonesia’s most capable warship category to date.

The 143-meter-long vessel features a 17-meter-wide hull, capacity for 120 crew members, and a dual-hangar setup with an integrated flight deck. Its propulsion system combines gas turbine and diesel engines with electric drives for enhanced performance. Armament includes a comprehensive suite of weapons such as a 127 mm naval gun, 76 mm air defence systems, 25 mm cannons, missile launch systems, and electronic warfare capabilities. Capable of speeds above 50 km/h and extended endurance of 5,000 nautical miles, the ship is designed for versatile and long-range maritime operations.
