Raytheon has secured a $197 million contract from the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to supply MS-110 multispectral reconnaissance systems to Poland.

The contract includes the manufacture, integration, and engineering support of seven MS-110 reconnaissance pods, with work to be performed in Westford, Massachusetts. The program is expected to conclude in August 2031.

Raytheon said Poland will become the first NATO country and the fourth air force globally to adopt the MS-110 capability once deliveries are complete.

The MS-110 delivers next-generation data processing at the tactical edge, allowing operators to defeat camouflage and decoys in near real time, according to Theisen, president of Advanced Products and Solutions.

Derived from the DB-110 dual-band reconnaissance system, the MS-110 collects imagery across multiple visual and infrared bands while maintaining common ground coverage. It enables wide-area surveillance from increased standoff distances and produces higher-resolution imagery compared with earlier-generation pods.

Enhanced by artificial intelligence and machine learning, the system can rapidly analyze and interpret reconnaissance data. It is designed to plug directly into existing DB-110 operational frameworks, using shared ground support equipment to streamline fielding.

The pod is compatible with a range of manned and unmanned platforms, including F-16, F-15, F/A-18, and Gripen fighters, C-130 transport aircraft, maritime patrol aircraft, and medium-altitude long-endurance UAVs such as the MQ-9.
