Elbit Systems has secured a $228 million contract to equip the U.S. Army’s Bradley infantry fighting vehicles with its Iron Fist active protection system.

The contract forms part of an eight-year Bradley modernization program led by General Dynamics, which could ultimately cover more than 1,200 vehicles. Elbit is expected to support Iron Fist integration and related activities for approximately three years.

The award builds on a previous contract announced in May 2024 that identified the M2A4E1 Bradley variant as the initial platform for Iron Fist integration. This latest deal marks the third order issued under the wider Bradley upgrade effort.

Iron Fist is already being fielded on European NATO CV90 infantry fighting vehicles alongside its adoption by the U.S. Army.

Using hard-kill technology, the system enhances vehicle self-protection by detecting incoming threats and launching an interceptor to neutralize them before impact. Providing 360-degree coverage, Iron Fist is effective against drones, loitering munitions, anti-tank missiles, rockets, and kinetic energy rounds, and is housed in a compact, low-profile turret suitable for modern armored platforms.
