Iran vowed Sunday to rebuild its damaged nuclear sites stronger than before, following coordinated Israeli and US airstrikes, as Oman urged renewed US-Iran dialogue.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said reconstruction efforts would begin soon but offered no specifics. His remarks come months after Israel’s June bombardment, a 12-day campaign that struck nuclear, military, and civilian areas, killing senior Iranian scientists.

In response, Tehran launched ballistic missiles toward Israeli cities.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged in July that Iran’s facilities suffered “serious and severe” damage despite claims from Washington that its nuclear capabilities were destroyed.

Oman, a longtime go-between for the two rivals, has encouraged both sides to resume stalled negotiations. According to government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani, Iran has received “diplomatic messages” about possible talks.

Five rounds of indirect discussions were previously held in Muscat, with a sixth canceled after Israel’s strikes.

Iran now faces renewed UN sanctions, triggered by European powers citing non-compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, further escalating tensions in the region.
