The United States Department of State has cleared three foreign military sales packages for the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System involving Israel, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Under the proposed agreements, Israel and Qatar would each acquire 10,000 APKWS-II rounds in deals worth an estimated $992.4 million apiece. The United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, requested 1,500 APKWS-II air-to-air guidance sections in a separate package valued at $147.6 million.

The approvals highlight the increasing use of the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System as an affordable interceptor against drones and other airborne threats, offering a less expensive alternative to conventional air-to-air missiles.

Beyond the missile systems, the packages include various support and sustainment items. Israel’s request contains testing equipment, training support, technical documentation, transportation, logistics assistance, and spare and repair components.

The requests from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates further include LAU-131/A launchers, Mk 152 warheads, Mk 66 motors, practice warheads, proximity fuzes, inert training motors, and associated support services.

BAE Systems will serve as the primary contractor for the three potential sales. US officials stated that the deals are designed to help partner nations address evolving regional threats, reinforce territorial defense, and improve operational compatibility with American forces.

Washington further concluded that emergency conditions warranted immediate authorization of the sales to protect US national security interests, enabling the agreements to proceed without the normal congressional review timeline required under the Arms Export Control Act.
