The Israeli defense firm RADA is accelerating radar modernization efforts for Ukraine, incorporating real-time feedback from the Ukrainian military into its ongoing system upgrades and software refinements.

Data collected from combat environments is enabling the Netanya-based company to fine-tune performance and expand its range of battle-proven radar solutions to match Ukraine’s evolving operational needs.

The main system in service, the Improved Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (ieMHR), is built to detect and track drones, missiles, and aircraft while maintaining high mobility and ease of deployment. The radar can be configured for fixed, vehicle-mounted, or man-portable use.

Performance specifications indicate detection of nanodrones up to 10 km, medium drones up to 45 km, helicopters within 45 km, low-altitude jets at 35 km, and transport aircraft up to 100 km.

Ukraine has fielded multiple ieMHR units, many provided through civilian donation channels. In May 2023, radar systems delivered by the Lithuanian NGO Blue/Yellow were deployed in combat operations, following approval from the Israeli Ministry of Defense for the transfer of 16 systems.
