Anduril Industries, based in California, has been selected by the US Army to upgrade its UAS tracking and neutralization capabilities. The award comes after a competitive evaluation led by the Army’s Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space, partnered with the Defense Innovation Unit, where Anduril surpassed competitor Zone 5 Technologies.

The program seeks to modernize the fire control system linking radar, sensors, and weapons to counter the increasing threat from enemy autonomous systems. Although contract terms remain undisclosed, Anduril’s recent $642 million, 10-year UAS countermeasure contract with the US Marine Corps indicates the Army effort could be similar in scope.

The upgraded solution will replace the current FAAD C2 system from Northrop Grumman, which also entered the competition with its successor, AiON.
