Q-Net Security to Boost US Air Force Battlefield Communications

Missouri-based Q-Net Security has secured a contract with the US Air Force to advance faster, safer, and more reliable battlefield communications in high-stakes operational domains.

The project builds on prior collaborations focused on airborne wide-area networks, high-capacity air-to-air links, and mobile, self-forming networks designed to keep forces connected while on the move.

As part of the effort, the company will also develop Tactical Key Management encryption tools to enable secure, real-time communications in support of the Air Force’s Agile Combat Employment concept, which emphasizes rapid, flexible deployment.

Q-Net’s portfolio includes the Q-Box, a plug-and-play encryption device, and the Q-Net Policy Manager, which oversees networks of up to 1,000 Q-Boxes. Both are based on the firm’s hardware-secured “hardsec” design, intended to eliminate software vulnerabilities and resist remote hacking.

These systems are already in use across US military networks, helping safeguard critical infrastructure.

Q-Net CEO John Pyrovolakis said the award highlights the Air Force’s commitment to deploying resilient communication systems that deliver “strength and simplicity” to US warfighters.
