To strengthen its surveillance capabilities in the Baltic, Arctic, and North Atlantic regions, Denmark has signed an agreement to purchase four MQ-9B SkyGuardian unmanned aerial systems.

The delivery, expected between 2028 and 2029, includes three ground control stations, associated equipment, and training for Danish personnel to be conducted in the United States.

Although the procurement’s final cost has not been publicly revealed, the budget earmarked for the project reportedly stands at 370 million euros ($434 million). The purchase is part of the MQ-9B International Cooperation Support Partnership, administered by NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency.

This initiative — involving Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, and the UK — is aimed at fostering interoperability, reducing acquisition costs through joint procurement, and enhancing collaboration via shared training, logistical services, and operational know-how.
