Neros Technologies has been selected by the US Army as one of three core vendors under its Purpose-Built Attritable Systems (PBAS) initiative, aimed at delivering deployable unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for platoon-level operations.
As part of the agreement, the California-based defense technology firm will produce its Archer drone in 5-inch (13 cm) and 10-inch (25 cm) formats, adding to its existing 8-inch (20 cm) version.
The Archer is capable of precision strikes using anti-armor and anti-personnel payloads, with a range exceeding 20 kilometers (12 miles). In non-strike roles, it supports modular sensor packages for reconnaissance and surveillance applications.
Neros will also supply its Flatbow control system, a field-portable upgrade to its Crossbow Ground Control platform, designed to function effectively in environments affected by electronic warfare, providing enhanced signal resilience and reliability.
The PBAS selection builds upon two years of co-development and testing conducted with both US and Ukrainian forces. Founded in 2023, Neros emphasized that the achievement reflects extensive engineering innovation and commitment to domestic component manufacturing to secure its supply chain.
Alongside this milestone, Neros completed a $75 million funding round led by Sequoia Capital, increasing total capital raised to over $120 million. The funds will drive mass production of Archer drones and Flatbow systems, reinforce a US-based manufacturing ecosystem, and advance research into autonomous UAS frameworks for future combat applications.
