The US Army has selected L3Harris Technologies to provide its next-generation binocular night-vision solution under a contract worth up to $465 million. The seven-year award supports the Binocular Night Observation Device program and reflects ongoing efforts to modernize battlefield awareness for ground forces.

L3Harris will deliver its NOVA helmet-mounted system, which leverages upgraded image intensifier technology to improve visibility and situational awareness across day, night, and adverse weather conditions. The system is an evolution of existing US military night-vision platforms and is intended to remain operationally relevant for the next 20 years.

The NOVA program is part of a broader transition toward lightweight, digitally enhanced binocular optics aimed at replacing older legacy systems across combat units.

The contract aligns with a series of US Army modernization initiatives focused on strengthening night combat capabilities. L3Harris has already supplied over 20,000 Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular systems in recent years as part of soldier modernization efforts.

In parallel, Elbit Systems continues to support US programs, providing advanced night-vision systems under multiple procurement cycles for both conventional forces and special operations units.
