Elbit Systems has secured a major $1.4-billion agreement to support a broad military modernization initiative for an unnamed European nation.
The contract, which spans five years, is aimed at boosting operational mobility and battlefield survivability while highlighting increasing European investment in networked warfare and unmanned combat technologies.
Elbit stated that the program will include autonomous unmanned platforms, software-defined communication systems, land electronic warfare equipment, electro-optical surveillance and targeting solutions, and precision-guided weapons for artillery and air-to-ground strike missions.
Expanding Defense Contracts in Europe
The deal further strengthens Elbit Systems’ footprint in the European defense market following a series of recent contract wins.
In March, the company joined forces with KNDS to offer the EuroPULS multiple-launch rocket system to European armed forces.
One month earlier, Elbit obtained international defense contracts worth nearly $435 million to deliver advanced land systems and help develop future military capabilities over the next six years.
The company also secured contracts worth roughly $150 million in January to equip European aircraft fleets with its advanced J-MUSIC Directed Infrared Countermeasures technology.
