South Korea is considering the development of an artificial intelligence system capable of analyzing millions of military reservists’ training records to improve the readiness and mobilization of its reserve forces.
The Defense Ministry has commissioned a study to consolidate reservists’ training data into a standardized database, creating the foundation for AI-driven analysis of individual performance, military specialties, and training outcomes, according to The Korea Herald.
The proposed system could eventually support more personalized training programs and help military planners make better-informed wartime personnel assignments. South Korea has approximately 2.56 million reservists, with around 1.7 million participating in annual training.
