Belgium is moving to strengthen the combat capability of its F-35 fighter fleet following US approval for a potential $236-million sale of AGM-184 Joint Strike Missiles. The package includes missiles, support equipment, spare parts, training systems, and sustainment services, with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and RTX serving as the principal contractors. Designed specifically for stealth aircraft such as the F-35, the Joint Strike Missile is optimized for anti-ship and deep-strike missions in contested environments. The missile combines stealth characteristics, high-subsonic speed, and long-range precision strike capability, supporting Belgium’s contribution to NATO collective defense operations.
