MKU has introduced its NMK-3000 upgrade series, aimed at transforming standard AK-47 rifles into modernized combat systems tailored for current operational needs. The solution reflects India’s focus on indigenous innovation and efficient modernization of existing defense assets.
The NMK-3000 kits deliver a range of enhancements focused on usability and flexibility. These include Picatinny rail systems for mounting optics and accessories, holographic sights for quick targeting, and night vision attachments for improved performance in low-light conditions. Ergonomic improvements such as enhanced grips and a folding buttstock provide better control and user comfort.
Additional features include modular rail systems for integrating tactical equipment and sling attachments for improved weapon handling. The upgrades maintain the AK-47’s durability while addressing key shortcomings related to ergonomics and accessory integration, enabling soldiers to adapt the weapon for different mission profiles.
The kits offer a cost-efficient alternative to full rifle replacement, allowing forces to upgrade existing inventories while maintaining operational familiarity. Designed for easy installation in the field, they reduce maintenance time and enable rapid adoption across units.
With enhanced night-fighting capabilities and modular customization, the NMK-3000 improves infantry effectiveness across varied terrains and missions. The initiative strengthens India’s self-reliance in defense manufacturing and positions MKU as a key contributor to modern small arms development for future combat scenarios.
