Germany has unveiled the “SCILT Naval” active counter-drone system, designed to provide maritime forces with a new layer of protection against close-range aerial threats.
Developed by Fulda-based Mehler Protection, the system is intended to serve as a last line of defense against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that larger air defense systems may not be able to counter immediately.
SCILT Naval features three alert levels covering detection, approach, and engagement. It can also deploy a range of ammunition types, including armor-piercing, fragmentation, and shotgun rounds, to engage incoming threats.
