EDGE Group has entered into a cooperation framework with the Brazilian Army to support testing and evaluation of advanced small arms for special operations units. The assessments will take place in realistic military environments, featuring high-intensity, scenario-based exercises designed to replicate operational conditions.

The weapons under evaluation include the CAR 816 5.56×45 mm tactical rifle and the CSR50 12.7×99 mm sniper system, both produced by Caracal and compliant with NATO standards. EDGE stated that the partnership aims to facilitate the potential adoption of these systems while enhancing the operational capabilities of specialized personnel handling assault and precision weaponry.

Beyond equipment testing, the collaboration promotes knowledge sharing and co-development, drawing on combined strengths in engineering, logistics, and operational expertise. The company emphasized that the program is expected to directly boost combat effectiveness and mission readiness for Brazilian forces.

This development follows EDGE’s recent agreement with Indra, alongside SIATT, to establish radar production capabilities in Brazil. The initiative is set to expand local manufacturing, strengthen the defense workforce, and reinforce Brazil’s self-reliant defense ecosystem.
