Israel-based Uvision is partnering with Estonia’s Lendurai to integrate AI-enabled autonomous capabilities into its unmanned systems.
Under the agreement, Lendurai will develop the autonomy software, while Uvision will integrate the technology into its unmanned platforms. The companies said the collaboration is intended to support the armed forces of a NATO member, although they have not disclosed the identity of the customer.
Lendurai’s technology combines computer vision and machine learning to support autonomous navigation, reduce operator workload, and improve mission performance in complex operating environments.
Uvision develops the Hero family of loitering munitions, offering systems with different ranges, payload configurations, and mission profiles. The platforms are designed to engage battlefield targets, including armoured vehicles and personnel.
The companies have not disclosed the specific Uvision platform involved, the NATO customer, the value of the agreement, or the expected delivery schedule.
Lendurai’s AI Autonomy Technology
Lendurai develops autonomy software designed to enable unmanned aircraft to operate with reduced dependence on satellite navigation and continuous radio links.
Its Neocortex autonomy stack integrates visual perception, navigation, and terminal guidance capabilities. The system uses onboard cameras and computing resources to interpret the surrounding environment and support navigation when GPS or other external positioning signals are degraded or unavailable.
The company has also linked the development of its autonomy technology to operations in Ukraine, stating that the Neocortex system has undergone combat testing there.
Growing Focus on Defense AI
The partnership comes as Estonia continues to expand its focus on artificial intelligence and unmanned systems for defense applications. The country has developed a strategy addressing military uses of AI and has also strengthened cooperation with Ukraine on drone technology, including an agreement announced in 2026.
For Uvision, integrating AI-based autonomy could expand the capabilities of its unmanned platforms in environments where satellite navigation and conventional communications may be disrupted. For Lendurai, the collaboration provides an opportunity to integrate its autonomy technology into established unmanned systems for military applications.
