Naval Group of France and Athens-headquartered Metlen have signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen collaboration on submarine and naval surface vessel programs. The agreement, concluded in Volos, is designed to elevate Metlen’s role as a strategic partner within Naval Group’s supply network while strengthening joint efforts across existing defence programs for both France and Greece.
Building on cooperation that began in 2022 under the Hellenic Navy’s FDI frigate project, the partnership has already integrated numerous Greek companies through Naval Group’s industrial participation framework. Looking ahead, the two firms intend to jointly pursue opportunities in global markets. Metlen is further expanding its defence manufacturing capabilities via its Volos-based subsidiary M Technologies, including the development of a multi-site industrial hub aimed at supporting European defence initiatives and advanced engineering programs.
