In a major push to strengthen India’s indigenous defense ecosystem, Ananth Technologies Private Limited and EndureAir Systems Private Limited have signed a Technology Cooperation Agreement to jointly develop next-generation loitering munition systems for military use. The agreement, formalized on March 6, 2026, in Hyderabad, marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration focused on advancing autonomous precision strike capabilities.

The pact was signed by Managing Director Anurup Pavuluri and EndureAir’s CEO, reflecting a shared vision to deliver advanced unmanned weapon platforms tailored to the evolving needs of the Indian Armed Forces.

The partnership will prioritize indigenous design, development, and production under the IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category—the highest priority classification in India’s defense procurement system. This approach ensures reliance on domestic expertise, supply chains, and technologies, supporting national goals of reducing import dependency.

Loitering munitions are becoming a critical element of modern warfare, combining UAV-based surveillance with precision strike capability. These systems can loiter over a target area, identify threats, and strike with minimal collateral damage, making them highly effective against high-value and time-sensitive targets.

The collaboration leverages complementary strengths: Ananth Technologies contributes expertise in aerospace engineering, avionics, and mission-critical electronics, while EndureAir brings capabilities in UAV platforms, autonomy, and aerial robotics. Together, they aim to develop a family of loitering munition systems with varying ranges, endurance levels, and payload configurations.

The program will focus on platforms capable of operating in high-risk, contested environments, offering persistent surveillance, rapid engagement, and precision strike capabilities while minimizing risk to manned assets. These systems are expected to feature advanced autonomy, real-time targeting, and modular payloads for mission flexibility.

Beyond domestic requirements, the partnership also aims to tap into global demand, positioning India as a competitive exporter of cost-effective unmanned combat systems to friendly nations.
