In a display of next-generation warfare, the Indian Army showcased a handheld directed-energy weapon (DEW) capable of neutralizing drones during a recent field exercise.
The demonstration featured the army using a portable DEW to engage aerial targets, representing one of India’s most advanced public tests of precision laser weaponry to date.
The system is reportedly a prototype developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as part of a larger initiative to deploy laser-based counter-drone technologies.
