The US Department of Defense has consolidated two critical entities under its Office of Acquisition and Sustainment to enhance oversight and coordination of foreign military sales.
The move places the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which manages arms sales and training programs for international partners, alongside the Defense Technology Security Administration, tasked with safeguarding sensitive defense technologies.
According to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the reorganization seeks to streamline arms exports while reinforcing the strength and expansion of the US defense industrial base.
