Thales and Systematic have joined forces under a strategic partnership to strengthen integrated air defense capabilities for Denmark’s Armed Forces.

The agreement brings together Systematic’s advanced command-and-control solutions and Thales’ air defense technologies, including the SAMP/T NG missile defense system. The collaboration will contribute to Denmark’s ongoing efforts to modernize its air and surface-based missile defense network.

Instead of creating an entirely new weapon platform, the companies will focus on enhancing the ability of different air defense systems to communicate, share information, and operate as an integrated network. The objective is to develop interoperable solutions compatible with Denmark’s existing defense structure and NATO requirements.

The partnership is also expected to support the Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organisation in its procurement activities while creating opportunities for local industrial participation and future defense exports.

Growing International Cooperation

The agreement represents another step in Denmark’s broader effort to expand international defense partnerships and strengthen its domestic industrial base.

In May, DroneShield and Terma agreed to cooperate on interoperable counter-UAS technologies, supporting joint testing and possible future operational deployment.

Meanwhile, Navantia presented a long-term cooperation proposal in March to support Denmark’s future naval programs. The proposal includes local industry participation, training, and lifecycle support, with initial deliveries expected from 2030.

In addition, Heckler & Koch and Rheinmetall Nordic signed an agreement in December 2025 to jointly develop and deliver integrated small arms, fire-control, and weapon accessory solutions for military and law enforcement customers across Europe.
