Kongsberg has entered into a cooperation agreement with OSI Maritime Systems to advance submarine navigation capabilities in support of Canada’s next-generation undersea warfare requirements.
The agreement supports the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP), a major modernization initiative launched in 2021 that aims to procure up to 12 conventional submarines as replacements for Canada’s Victoria-class fleet.
As part of the partnership, OSI’s navigation technologies for surface and underwater platforms will be integrated into Kongsberg’s ORCCA Combat Management System and made available through the company’s international supply network. The ORCCA CMS is being offered in partnership with TKMS, a key competitor in the multibillion-dollar CPSP program.
Beyond technology integration, the collaboration is intended to strengthen Canada’s sovereign submarine support capabilities by providing long-term maintenance expertise, improved operational effectiveness, and comprehensive lifecycle support for future naval assets.
