Patria has indicated that it is ready to assist Lithuania should the country decide to join the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) initiative, following approval for the procurement of more than 900 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles.

Launched in 2020 by Finland and Latvia, the CAVS program was created to develop a common NATO-compatible armored vehicle solution built around the Patria 6×6 platform. The initiative focuses on shared acquisitions, cooperative product development, and efficient long-term sustainment to reduce costs and improve interoperability among participating nations.

Patria’s support package includes transferring production expertise and industrial knowledge to Lithuanian partners, helping expand local manufacturing capabilities. Executive Vice President Jussi Järvinen noted that the company has maintained active cooperation with Lithuania’s defense industry for more than a year.

The program currently counts Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom as official members, while remaining open to additional NATO and European countries. Ukraine, though not formally enrolled, operates Patria 6×6 vehicles donated by Latvia and delivered through the CAVS framework. Built on a modular architecture, the Patria 6×6 offers flexible mission configurations alongside high levels of mobility and battlefield protection.
