Otokar has introduced the first Romania-built Cobra II infantry mobility vehicle at a defense and aerospace convention held in Bucharest.
The unveiling marks the launch of the company’s local manufacturing operations for the 4×4 armored vehicle as part of the Romanian Army’s large-scale acquisition program covering 1,059 platforms. Under the contract, 781 Cobra II vehicles will be produced at Otokar’s Mediaș facility after the armed forces receive an initial delivery assembled in Turkey.
In addition to the Cobra II, Otokar displayed its Tulpar infantry fighting vehicle fitted with the domestically developed Mizrak 30 mm turret at the event.
The company also highlighted a new-generation unmanned ground vehicle created in partnership with BlueSpace Technologies and Elektroland Defense, demonstrating expanded collaboration between Turkish and Romanian defense industries.
