Teledyne Marine of Florida and MSubs in Devon have formalized a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on autonomous maritime solutions for the Royal Navy.

Under the agreement, the two firms will integrate unmanned vehicle platforms with advanced autonomy systems, sensors, communications equipment, imaging technologies, lighting systems, and subsea connectors to support next-generation naval operations.

The partnership is positioned to contribute to key UK naval efforts such as the Atlantic Bastion anti-submarine warfare program and the Maritime Mine Countermeasures Block 2 initiative, while also expanding into global defense markets.

Part of the initiative builds on earlier collaboration that integrated Teledyne’s SeaBat multibeam sonar systems onto British-built Zero drone boats during a NATO autonomous systems exercise led by the Portuguese Navy.

In 2026, the companies plan to field Teledyne’s Slocum autonomous underwater gliders and Osprey-class underwater vehicles from Zero unmanned surface vessels in operational deployments across the UK and Iceland during the year’s first half.
