The suits deliver flash-flame protection through lightweight, highly breathable, and flexible materials that avoid the bulk and heat retention associated with conventional flame-resistant fabrics.
The design uses tailored laminates, incorporating lighter textiles in low-stress areas and reinforced sections at common impact points such as the shoulders, elbows, and knees.
Evaluations with elite units and naval teams across the Middle East, Mediterranean, and Pacific confirmed the suits retain their protective performance under plate carriers and rough conditions, while enhancing endurance and overall readiness.
GORE-TEX has also introduced other soldier-focused innovations, including a new lightweight jacket optimized for cold, windy operational settings.
