Raytheon, an RTX subsidiary, has awarded TTM Technologies a multi-year contract to supply critical electronic components for the US Army’s Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) radar.

The agreement could reach a value of $200 million over three years, depending on production volumes and evolving program requirements.

TTM will supply radio-frequency assemblies, electronic hardware, and printed circuit boards in support of LTAMDS production. The partnership builds on earlier collaboration between the two companies during the system’s development and transition to production readiness.

The contract is intended to reinforce supply-chain resilience and support accelerated delivery schedules as LTAMDS enters higher-rate manufacturing.

LTAMDS is designed to replace the Patriot radar, offering continuous 360-degree surveillance and improved capability against advanced air and missile threats.

As part of the agreement, TTM will design, manufacture, and test key portions of the radar’s Beam Forming Network, in addition to producing printed wiring boards and specialized assemblies for both LTAMDS and the associated GhostEye radar family. These components play a critical role in enabling the radar to simultaneously detect, track, and discriminate multiple targets.

The LTAMDS radar is a central pillar of the US Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense framework and is intended to complement existing Patriot interceptors while supporting future upgrades.

Raytheon was selected as the program’s prime contractor in 2019, with the radar subsequently completing several flight tests and operational demonstrations.
