Trust Automation has secured a potential $490‑million contract from the US Air Force to accelerate the development and deployment of unmanned and counter‑drone capabilities.

The contract covers the full lifecycle of UAS and C‑UAS solutions, including rapid R&D, prototyping, testing, production, and transition into operational service, as the Air Force seeks to counter increasing drone threats at home and abroad. Contract performance will take place in San Luis Obispo, California, and extend through August 2030.

The company’s counter‑drone portfolio emphasizes electronic attack against small unmanned systems by targeting command‑and‑control and GNSS links. Central to this offering is the Small Unmanned Air Defense System, which provides layered protection for permanent installations and deployable coverage for combat operations.

Designed with a modular architecture, the system can detect and neutralize Group 1–2 drones weighing up to 25 kilograms, flying at speeds of up to 250 knots and altitudes of 3,500 feet. Trust Automation also offers the GAT UAS Jammer, a 6‑inch weapon‑mounted attachment compatible with NATO rails and usable as a handheld counter‑drone device.
