Poland has announced plans to send up to nine MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, marking the first delivery once technical checks and operational arrangements are completed. While the government has already approved the move, officials are finalizing practical matters such as aircraft readiness, maintenance, and logistical coordination with Kyiv.
According to Paweł Zalewski of the Ministry of National Defence, the first batch will include fewer than ten jets, reflecting the number of aircraft approaching retirement in Polish service. The transfer forms part of a broader framework of military cooperation, with Poland expressing interest in Ukrainian drone and counter-drone technologies in exchange for the fighters.
