Embraer has signed a long-term support and services agreement to provide full-spectrum maintenance, logistics, and technical assistance for the Hungarian Air Force’s C-390 Millennium fleet.

The contract will see Embraer utilize its European maintenance and support infrastructure to sustain Hungary’s two aircraft, positioning the country as the second NATO operator of the C-390 platform.

Designed as a true multi-mission aircraft, the C-390 Millennium supports a wide operational envelope including humanitarian relief, medical evacuation, search and rescue, troop and cargo transport, precision airdrop missions, paratrooper operations, and aerial refueling.

Hungary’s fleet is also the first globally to integrate a modular roll-on/roll-off intensive care medical unit, enabling rapid role changes between airlift, medevac, and critical care missions.

According to Embraer, the agreement is intended to sustain the aircraft’s exceptional reliability record, with the first C-390 achieving a mission success rate above 99 percent since entering operational service. Support services will underpin growing mission demands as Hungary expands the platform’s operational roles.

Embraer’s engagement with Hungary reflects a multi-year partnership shaped by procurement and capability development.

In November 2020, Hungary ordered two C-390 Millennium aircraft in aerial refueling configuration, including comprehensive training, logistics support, and technical services.

The first aircraft was delivered to Kecskemét Air Base in September 2024, where it began operational service supporting a wide range of missions, including aerial refueling of the Hungarian Air Force’s Saab Gripen fleet.

With the delivery of the second aircraft in November 2025, Hungary became the first global operator to complete delivery of its full C-390 contract.
