BAE Systems has secured a $73.8 million contract to provide more than 1,200 radio-frequency countermeasure systems for fighter aircraft operated by the United States and allied nations.
The award, issued as a modification to an existing contract, spans multiple production and integration sites across the U.S., including facilities in Nashua, New Hampshire; Elkton, Maryland; and California. Contract performance is expected to conclude in February 2029. Funding is sourced from U.S. Navy and Air Force procurement accounts for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, along with foreign military sales funding.
The RF countermeasure systems will bolster electronic self-protection for U.S. and partner fighter platforms, improving survivability in contested electromagnetic environments.
This latest contract reinforces BAE Systems’ ongoing role in U.S. and allied electronic warfare modernization. In 2023, the company was chosen to manufacture upgraded AN/ASQ-239 electronic warfare suites for F-35 Block 4 fighters, while L3Harris Technologies advanced next-generation EW systems for the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet fleets.
In 2024, Raytheon continued its work on the Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band program, providing enhanced RF countermeasures for EA-18G Growler aircraft through 2028. That same year, BAE Systems was awarded a $95 million Navy contract to supply electronic warfare pods for the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
