L3Harris Technologies has successfully integrated its VAMPIRE counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) onto GM Defense’s Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV), providing a highly mobile and affordable defense solution against small drones.

The VAMPIRE—short for Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment—is a self-contained, plug-and-play system capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing unmanned aerial threats. Its modular design allows rapid installation on a wide range of vehicles or maritime platforms within minutes, enhancing unit flexibility in dynamic combat environments.

According to L3Harris, the VAMPIRE has been operational since 2023, where it has reportedly neutralized hundreds of hostile drones in active European theaters.

About the Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV)
GM Defense’s ISV, derived from the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, is designed for fast, agile troop transport in rugged terrain. Powered by a 275-horsepower Duramax turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, it can carry nine soldiers and up to 3,200 pounds (1,451 kg) of equipment.

The ISV can be airlifted or airdropped using UH-60 Black Hawk, CH-47 Chinook, CH-53 Stallion, or C-17 and C-130 transport aircraft, enabling rapid deployment across multiple mission profiles.
