Colorado-based Vectrus Systems has received a roughly $252-million contract from the US Air Force to support Iraq’s fleet of F-16 fighter jets, building on a $118-million award earlier this year.
The contract covers base operations, life-support services, and security tasks at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base in Salah al-Din province, with completion expected by September 24, 2026.
The renewed agreement extends long-standing US contractor involvement that has been critical to maintaining Iraq’s F-16 operational availability amid previous instability caused by militia threats and temporary workforce withdrawals.
Iraq’s 34-strong F-16 fleet, delivered beginning in 2014, is stationed at the Ali Flaih base north of Baghdad, serving as the principal platform for airstrikes against remaining Islamic State elements.
