The US Navy has received its first two Lionfish unmanned underwater systems from HII, part of a broader $347 million contract signed in 2023. The initial tranche supports the service’s transition to autonomous undersea platforms, with an option for up to 200 additional units through 2028. HII will also deliver associated engineering and support equipment.
