Bollinger Shipyards has delivered the 61st Sentinel-class patrol vessel to the US Coast Guard in Key West, Florida, marking the latest milestone in the ongoing Fast Response Cutter (FRC) program.
Named USCGC Olivia Hooker (WPC 1161), the cutter will be stationed in Pascagoula, Mississippi, alongside the USCGC Benjamin B. Dailey (WPC 1123) and USCGC Jacob Poroo (WPC 1125).

The delivery follows a recent Coast Guard contract award to Bollinger for 10 additional FRCs, backed by $1 billion in funding under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
This extension brings the total number of vessels in the program to 77, prolonging production by about three years beyond the initial 2028 timeline.

According to the US Maritime Administration, the FRC initiative has contributed over $2 billion in material expenditures and sustains more than 650 jobs in Southeast Louisiana, with another 1,700 jobs supported indirectly.

Launched in 2012, the Sentinel-class series replaces the aging Island-class patrol boats, enhancing the Coast Guard’s capabilities in defense, interdiction, maritime safety, and border enforcement.
Each vessel measures 47 meters (154 feet), accommodates up to 20 crew members, and is equipped with advanced surface and aerial sensors, IFF systems, a 25-millimeter gun, and crew-served machine guns.
Powered by twin MTU engines generating 5,800 horsepower and a 1,010-horsepower bow thruster, the cutter achieves speeds above 28 knots (52 km/h or 32 mph) with a range of 2,500 nautical miles (4,630 km or 2,877 miles).
