Washington has authorized a $2.68-billion sale of bombs to Canada, aligning with the country’s broader push to enhance military capabilities. The deal comprises BLU-111 general-purpose munitions, GBU-39 precision weapons, and thousands of JDAM guidance kits. The State Department emphasized that the purchase will boost Canada’s ability to deter regional threats, operate cohesively with US forces, and contribute meaningfully to North American defense frameworks.
