The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Teledyne FLIR Defense a $42.5 million contract for more than 600 Rogue 1 loitering munition systems under the Organic Precision Fires-Light (OPF-L) program, enhancing small-unit firepower with an independent precision-strike option and supporting the Corps’ shift toward distributed, agile combat formations.

Announced by Teledyne FLIR, the new delivery order expands the OPF-L acquisition effort, providing rifle-level units with a beyond-line-of-sight strike asset that they can deploy without relying on higher-tier fire support. The contract reflects the increasing operational value of loitering munitions in modern warfare, where dispersed forces must rapidly detect, track, and engage targets on their own authority. The award also underscores Teledyne FLIR’s strengthening position as a key supplier of advanced sensing and strike integration to U.S. military customers.

Issued as Delivery Order 3 by Marine Corps Systems Command, the contract includes Rogue 1 munition systems, ground control consoles and training equipment, with fielding scheduled to begin in the summer. The man-portable system enables Marines to locate targets hidden by terrain or urban structures, assess engagement decisions in real time, execute strikes, and recover the platform if no valid target appears – providing end-to-end control of the targeting cycle at the squad level.
