On Thursday, the U.S. government approved an $825 million deal to supply 3,350 ERAM air-launched missiles and associated systems to Ukraine.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) confirmed that the procurement will be supported by funding from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, as well as a U.S.-backed loan guarantee.

In its statement, DSCA noted that the proposed sale will boost Ukraine’s capacity to defend itself and safeguard regional security.

It further emphasized that the move serves U.S. strategic and security goals by strengthening a European partner that contributes to regional stability and economic growth.

The State Department has cleared the sale, while Congress has been notified and must still give its approval.
