Denmark has taken a major step forward in the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program by finalizing its participation with the signing of the program’s three closing agreements: the R&D Agreement, the Framework Agreement, and the Life Cycle Management Agreement.
This follows Denmark’s formal entry into the program in April 2025 via a Technical Arrangement with partner countries.
In conjunction with this milestone, Denmark confirmed the purchase of 129 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles (also referred to as XA-300s) from Finnish defense company Patria.
Valued at roughly 1.9 billion Danish kroner (€247 million), the procurement is backed by the Danish Accelerationsfonden.
Initial deliveries, intended for training purposes, will take place by the end of 2025, while main deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 as part of efforts to rebuild and modernize Denmark’s military capabilities.
