Textron Systems has secured a $41 million contract to contribute to the US Air Force’s T-7A Advanced Pilot Training Program by delivering maintenance training solutions.
The three-year task order, awarded by Akima, covers the engineering, assembly, and fielding of common fuselage structures for three sustainment simulators used in training military maintenance crews.
These simulators enable maintainers to gain practical experience supporting the T-7A Red Hawk aircraft and its subsystems, replicating real-world maintenance tasks in a controlled environment.
Instruction includes hands-on and virtual training elements such as part removal and replacement, inspections, performance assessments, and related maintenance operations.
Work will be performed at Textron’s Goose Creek, South Carolina facility, a center for tactical simulation products designed to enhance maintainer proficiency across multiple aircraft types.
The contract includes options worth up to $21 million for additional training systems, raising the program’s potential value to $62 million.
Textron is executing the project in partnership with Pinnacle Solutions, an Alabama-based subsidiary of Akima.
