Ten defense firms have been chosen to compete under the U.S. Army’s $4.2-billion Persistent Surveillance System – Tethered (PSS-T) program. Spanning ten years, the effort aims to deliver advanced lighter-than-air surveillance systems to strengthen persistent ISR capabilities. Selected contractors include Raytheon, Leidos, TCOM, and QinetiQ, among others, all offering specialized skills in aerostat design and support. The competitive award follows a 2024 solicitation for innovative, cost-plus-fixed-fee solutions suited for evolving defense environments.
