Sweden has become the first European nation to purchase Textron Systems’ RIPSAW M3 robotic ground vehicle, marking a significant expansion of its unmanned land systems portfolio. The RIPSAW M3 is a heavily ruggedized, hybrid-electric platform built to support modern battlefield requirements through modular payload integration and high mobility. Its 14,800-pound (6,711-kilogram) frame can carry 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilograms) of equipment and deliver 10 kilowatts of onboard power for advanced electronic systems. The 63-square-foot modular deck supports mission-configurable payloads for ISR, fire support, and specialized tasks. Measuring 206 by 80 inches, the vehicle can surpass 30 miles (48 kilometers) per hour, enabling rapid maneuver in complex terrain. Sweden’s procurement aligns with the M3’s recent selection for the US Army’s RCV program, underscoring growing international confidence in the system’s versatility and combat readiness.
