Saab has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the final production phase of two Blekinge-class (A26) submarines.

Valued at approximately 9.6 billion Swedish kronor ($1 billion), the deal covers additional materials and services, with deliveries planned between 2026 and 2032.

Engineered for mission flexibility and integration with uncrewed systems, the Blekinge-class represents the next generation of Swedish undersea warfare. Its signature feature, the Multi-Mission Portal, allows for the launch and recovery of manned and unmanned underwater vehicles as well as special operations units.

Each submarine measures 66.1 meters in length, with a 6.75-meter beam and a 1,925-ton displacement. Powered by three diesel and three Stirling engines, the platform supports 17–26 crew members and can accommodate up to 35 personnel during extended missions.
