At the Subic Agila Shipyard inauguration, officials confirmed the Philippine Navy will receive the BRP Diego Silang frigate next week. Derived from Hyundai’s HDF-3200 design, the Miguel Malvar-class was reclassified from corvette to frigate due to its added systems. The program, valued at PHP 12.5B per vessel, expands capabilities under the country’s Horizon 2 modernization effort.
